Our Ministry in Dancu

Called to serve God as missionaries in 2005, we spent two years training at Redcliffe College in Gloucester. During that time, the Lord placed Moldova on our hearts and, after a visit, we accepted an invitation to work alongside the local church in the rural west of Moldova. We arrived in Dancu in December 2007, after 2 months preparation in Chisinau.

Our work is in partnership with the local church - Dancu Baptist Church - including its charitable association, Dancu Tabita. We are keen to work with like-minded organisations, and so Chris accepted an invitation to act as Field Coordinator for Breadline, a Christian development organisation.

Our ministry in Dancu includes:
  • advising on economic development projects to lift poor families out of poverty
  • launching appeals to meet specific community needs, e.g. funds for building a barn
  • outreach through English teaching, football coaching, music tuition, etc.
  • youthwork, including a teenaged youthgroup and various summer camps
  • helping develop a training strategy and resource centre for local pastors
  • preaching in the church and at evangelistic events, e.g. in prisons
  • visiting families in Dancu and neighbouring villages
  • mentoring and supporting local Christians
